Why are we wasting resources in BC for construction of more hotel buildings?

Apartment buildings could be mixed-use for short-term rentals/hotels, and of course supportive housing.

If hotels are wanting to convert to long-term housing in the future, they couldn't because they would need extensive renovations to do so, costing even more money.

Increasing rates is done in order to reduce demand.

When you see inflation on necessities like food and shelter, what are you going to do to reduce demand?

Inflating prices on necessities doesn't reduce demand, it reduces people's ability to get what they need.

Because of Canada's size and how spread out the population is, we have to accept that things will be more expensive here. But more needs to be done to address the issue of inflation.

Usually Independent candidates come from a pretty fringe perspective. Potentially dissatisfied with government or Libertarian, with limited funding for campaigns.

Most of the Independents this year are actually Unaffiliated Independents, formerly of the BC United Party.

These candidates have been rigorously vetted by the official provincial opposition party, who have also been accepted by elections BC.

🗳️ "Split Vote" Excuse Hinders Democracy 🗳️

"Split vote" is a really convenient phrase that softens the blow of taking away a voters choice, but what it's doing is trying to be an excuse to shuffle votes a certain way.

Isn't democracy about choice? And if so, does 1 person have the power to drop a bomb and take away the choice of a voter by eliminating candidates?

This is essentially what happened with Kevin Falcon and the BC United Party. Using "split vote" as an excuse to take away candidates and therefor, a voters choice.
